This course provided attendees the opportunity to be educated on current research and clinical take-aways regarding how postural patterns impact voice production and breathing biomechanics.
Interview of the combined staff among UW-Madison speech language pathologists and identified a need for education in understanding the impact of postural impairments on voice and breathing.
As a result of this activity, the participants will be able to:
1. identify key postural patterns linked to impairments in voice and upper airway function and explain how they affect voice production and breathing biomechanics.
2. list common conditions that predispose patients to postural misalignment and describe considerations for treatment planning.
3. summarize signs and symptoms of postural dysfunction and describe implications for assessment and intervention of voice and upper airway disorders.
The estimated time to complete this online activity and exam is 1 hour(s). To receive credit, a passing grade of 100% is required on a short online quiz.
