Interview of the combined staff at the UW-Madison Voice and Swallowing Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin, and identified a need for education in the area of successfully establishing tracheostomy care teams in an acute care setting.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify the key components necessary for initiation of a tracheostomy team as well as potential barriers limiting successful implementation.
2. Describe the role of each provider specialty for successful intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration.
3. Summarize the benefits of a tracheostomy team for both the patient and the respective organization.
