This course provided information on dysphagia in the various stages of dementia and how swallowing and eating changes over this progression. This course educated speech language pathologists on approaches to maximize dysphagia management in various dementia disease stages.
After completion of this program, participants will be able to:
1) Identify the prevalence and characteristics of dysphagia by dementia subtype
2) Discuss how swallowing and eating change over the course of dementia progression
3) Describe approaches for optimizing dysphagia management with SLP intervention across disease stage
