This course provided an overview of laryngeal imaging assessment options. Attendees were educated regarding the influence that hormonal changes and substance use can have on imaging findings.
Interview of the combined staff at the UW-Madison Voice and Swallowing Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin, and identified a need for education in the area of laryngeal imaging assessment and findings.
Participants will:
1) Identify how high-speed videoendoscopic (HSV) assessment of laryngeal function differs from videostroboscopy.
2) Speak to the influence of serum hormone levels for reproductive and post-menopausal women on acoustic and HSV vibratory parameters.
3) Compare the influences of traditional cigarette versus menthol cigarette thermal changes on acoustic and HSV vibratory parameters.
The estimated time to complete this online activity and exam is 1 hour(s). To receive credit, a passing grade of 100% is required on a short online quiz. You will have opportunities to retake the quiz to achieve a passing score. After you have completed your exam and evaluation you will be able to automatically print your credit letter.
