This course provided an overview of velopharyngeal dysfunction and proper assessment techniques. Participants were educated regarding surgical outcomes addressing velopharyngeal dysfunction and how this impacts additional management strategies.
Interview of the combined staff at the UW-Madison Voice and Swallowing Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin, and identified a need for education in the area of velopharyngeal dysfunction assessment and management.
Attendees will be able to list the components of a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for the patient with velopharyngeal dysfunction (VPD).
Attendees will be able to describe the pros and cons of various VP imaging approaches.
Attendees will be able to list at least 3 core outcome measures recommended for use when describing VP surgical outcomes.
